TMS therapy is very promising. The non-invasive use of electric currents as an alternative way to treat depression is a breakthrough in the world of mental health. Standard TMS therapy usually requires 36 sessions over 6 to 9 weeks.

A new method, called SAINT, could shorten this to just 5 days. Researches from Stanford created this modified treatment plan for TMS. SAINT uses MRI to find the optimal spot in the brain to stimulate, triples the number of electromagnetic pulses per second, and condenses treatment to only 5 days by conducting 10 sessions per day.

In a recent study, 29 people with treatment-resistant depression received the SAINT method of TMS. 78% of experienced full remission with SAINT. This protocol carries enormous potential.
